Meatballs

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 small onion, coarsely grated
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 1tsp soy sauce

Hoisin Sauce

  • 1/2 cup hoisin sauce
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 garlic clove, finely crushed
  • 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
  • sesame seeds, for garnish
  • sliced or chopped green onions, for garnish

How to make it

  1. In a large bowl, combine the turkey, onion, breadcrumbs, egg, sesame oil and soy sauce, mixing with your hands just until combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into 1-inch balls and bake on a cookie sheet in the oven (at 375˚F for about 20 minutes), or in a drizzle of oil in a skillet on the stovetop until cooked through.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, soy sauce, garlic and ginger and toss with the warm meatballs.
  4. Serve garnished with sesame seeds and green onion.
