  • 1 1/4 cup flour*

  • 8 oz semi-sweet chocolate, cut into small pieces ($6.49)

  • 1/2 cup peanut butter ($0.80)
  • 1/2 cup roasted salted peanuts ($0.86)
  • 1/2 cup mini pretzel twists ($0.50)

How to make it

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F. Line a 9 x 13 pan with parchment paper
  2. Sift flour and baking soda and set aside
  3. Combine chocolate and butter in a bowl and set over a pot of gently boiling water to melt. Once melted, whisk in peanut butter, then remove from heat, add sugar and whisk until dissolved. Let cool slightly then whisk in eggs, one at a time.
  4. Fold in flour ⅓ cup at a time until batter is smooth. Add peanuts and fold until evenly distributed. Pour batter into lined baking delish and top with mini pretzels. Transfer to oven and bake 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the centre comes out with a few moist crumbs, but no wet batter.. Let cool for 2 hours then cut into squares.
