Ingredients

  • 300g black forest ham
  • 400g swiss cheese
  • 50ml yellow or dijon mustard (your preference)
  • 8 slices of dark or marble rye bread
  • 100g butter

How to make it

  1. Slice the swiss. Butter what will become the outside of the sandwiches on all slices of bread. Drizzle or spread mustard if using it on half of the bread slices, on the side with no butter ensuring that each sandwich gets one of the mustard breads.
  2. Arrange swiss on bread slices, cover half with sliced ham and close sandwiches by placing the tops and bottoms together.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium heat and grill the sandwiches 3-5 minutes, until golden brown on the first side, then flip and repeat on second side.
  4. Remove from skillet, cut in half and serve
