  • 1 white onion, diced 1/4-in thick ($1.39)

How to make it

  1. Preheat oven to 400 F.
  2. In a large pan over medium high heat, cook lean ground beef until browned and transfer to a colander to drain off any excess fat. In the same pan, saute white onions until softened, 3 to 4 minutes. Add drained ground beef back to pan along with garlic powder, onion powder, pepper, worcestershire sauce, paprika, ketchup and water. Mix until combined and transfer to a 9 x 13-in baking dish
  3. Top ground beef mixture with and even layer of shredded cheese, then arrange tasti taters, in neat rows, overtop. Transfer to oven and bake until taters are golden brown, 30 minutes.
  4. Top with diced red onion, pickles and roma tomatoes and shredded iceberg lettuce, or serve on side along with ketchup and yellow mustard, if desired.
