What are the special attributes and experience that make you a strong candidate for Calgary Co-op’s board?
I retired at age 53 (currently 66) from a 33 year career in oil and gas. Initially, I worked for a large multinational Company and then transitioned to smaller, private firms. After 17 years, I went out on my own and successfully founded three oil and gas companies, two of which were traded publicly. This experience taught me how to work hard and apply creativity to decisions, and how to run a business. I did this while raising a wonderful family with three children. Our family has grown up with the Co-op brand and we value it very much. I will work hard to improve things where I can while making sure the tradition and reputation of Co-op is upheld.
Why do you want to serve on the Calgary Co-op Board of Directors?
Given my experience, including being CEO for three companies, I have the expertise to add value to Co-op. I also have experience being a board member and can bring lessons learned and best practices to Co-op. Fundamentally, I am a person that gets things done with an acute attention for detail and a track record of execution, and, most importantly, working with integrity and honesty.
