Calgary Co-op Reusable Bag Design Contest

Official Rules and Regulations

The Calgary Co-op Reusable Bag Design Contest (the “Contest”) is intended to be conducted in Canada only and shall be construed and evaluated according to applicable Canadian law. No purchase necessary. The Contest is open to Alberta residents only and participants must be the age of majority or older in the province of Alberta at the time of entry. Void in whole or in part where prohibited by law. Entry in this Contest constitutes acceptance of these contest rules (the “Contest Rules”).

1. ELIGIBILITY

A) Entrants must be 18 years of age or older and must reside in Alberta.

B) Employees of Calgary Co-operative Association Limited (“Calgary Co-op”) and its wholly owned subsidiaries, co-sponsors, representatives, agents and their immediate families and people whom they live, are not eligible to enter.

C) No purchase is necessary.

D) Entries that are mutilated, tampered with or illegible are considered void. Calgary Co-op has the final decision regarding eligibility of entries.

E) Calgary Co-op shall have the right at any time to require proof of identity and/or eligibility to participate in the Contest. Failure to provide such proof may result in disqualification. All personal and other information requested by and supplied to Calgary Co-op for the purpose of the Contest must be truthful, complete, accurate and in no way misleading. Calgary Co-op reserves the right, in their sole discretion; to disqualify any entrant should such an entrant at any stage supply untruthful, incomplete, inaccurate or misleading personal details and/or information.

F) This Contest is subject to the laws of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada as may be applicable.

2. CONTEST PERIOD

A) The Contest begins at 12:00 a.m. Mountain Daylight Time (“MDT”) on May 1, 2017 and ends at 11:59 p.m. MDT on June 26, 2017 (the “Contest Period”) after which time the Contest will be closed.

3.  CONTEST MECHANICS

A) Individuals wishing to enter the Contest must submit an original design to feedback@calgarycoop.com that meets the following specifications by 11:59 p.m. on June 18:

  • Front and back panel  13.5" W x 16" H
  • Side panels  7.5” W x 16” H
  • Design must include Calgary Co-op logo and URL www.calgarycoop.com

B) The top designs submitted will be revealed on July 3, 2017. Calgary Co-op members will be invited to vote on their favourite design from June 26 - July 2, 2017.

C) The design receiving the highest number of votes will be determined as the winner of the Contest and announced on July 3, 2017

4.  PRIZE

  1. Grand Prize
    1. One (1) CONTEST GRAND PRIZE: One (1) Grand Prize: The winning design will be printed on reusable bags that will be sold at all 24 Calgary Co-op food centres. The winner will also receive a $250 Calgary Co-op gift card.

Start date: 12:00 a.m. May 1, 2017 - End date: 11:59 p.m. July 3, 2017

B) All prizes must be accepted as awarded. They are non-transferable and have no cash value.

E) Odds of winning dependent on the number of entries received.

F) The Prize Winner may claim his/her Prize in Calgary, Alberta within ten (10) business days of notification of being selected as a winner. Failure to claim the prize within the allotted time period may result in your disqualification and forfeiture of all rights to the Prize (in the Calgary Co-op’s sole discretion).

G) The prizes must be accepted as awarded and cannot be transferred, assigned, substituted or redeemed for cash, except at the sole discretion of Calgary Co-op.

H) Any unused portion of a prize will be forfeited and have no cash value. Calgary Co-op reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if a prize (or any portion thereof) cannot be awarded for any reason.

5.  PRIVACY

A) Calgary Co-op and its promotional partners reserve the right to use any contestant’s voice or image likeness in promotional material surrounding the contest.

B) Calgary Co-op will use the entrant’s personal Information only for identified purposes, and protect the entrant’s personal Information in a manner that is consistent with the Privacy Policy located at http://www.calgarycoop.com/utility_pages/privacy_policy.

6.  LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

A) Calgary Co-op assumes no responsibility or liability for lost, late, unintelligible/illegible, falsified, damaged, misdirected or incomplete entries, notifications, responses, replies or any release, or for any computer, online, software, telephone, hardware or technical malfunctions that may occur, including but not limited to malfunctions that may affect the transmission or non-transmission of an entry. Calgary Co-op is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by website users or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the contest or by any technical or human error which may occur in the administration of the contest. Calgary Co-op assume no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries. Calgary Co-op is not responsible for any problems, failures or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, providers, computer equipment, software, e-mail, players, or browsers, on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet, at any website, or on account of any combination of the foregoing. Calgary Co-op is not responsible for any injury or damage to entrant or to any computer related to or resulting from participating or downloading materials in this contest. Entrant assumes liability for injuries caused or claimed to be caused by participating in the contest, or by the acceptance, possession, use of, or failure to receive any prize. Calgary Co-op assumes no responsibility or liability in the event that the contest cannot be conducted as planned for any reason, including those reasons beyond the control of the Calgary Co-op, such as infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or corruption of the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this contest, the contest website and/or facebook.com.

B) Calgary Co-op reserves the right to end the Contest, or amend the Official Rules at any point during the Contest.

C) By entering this Contest, entrants acknowledge these Official Rules and agree to abide by them.

D) All Prize Winners are required to sign a Calgary Co-op Prize Disclaimer form.
